Wooly Doo Dee

Wooly Doo Dee was a country fool

Who thought he was a poet

All day he just slept and drooled

That’s why he couldn’t show it.

Wooly had a clever wife,

Witty as she could be.

She was done with Wooly’s lazy life,

So she had to find a key.

Wooly boasted ‘bout the poems he could write,

The wife told him to go write one,

He denied, and they had a fight,

So the wife replied,

“All day I work in the sun

To feed your big belly.

You stay in bed havin’ fun,

You make my house smelly!”

The door was open,

And Wooly tried to run.

But his belly got stuck,

He lost his luck. He had to face defeat.

But the guy who was lazy,

He went all crazy,

When his wife gave him nothing to eat!

                                                                                

Said she,” Give me a poem,

Or I’ll bring my gun!”

The deal was done,

The wife had won.

Wooly got to work right away,

Or today would be his very last day.

He would write and write,

Day and night,

And finally after two hungry days,

He presented his poem to his wife.

She was dazed and amazed,

And she spared his life

For the marvelous poem he had written,

She was absolutely smitten.

She filled his tummy

With food so yummy,

That Wooly’s arrogance faded,

He had at last made it!

So folks, remember not to be lazy,

Never boast,

Or Wooly’s ghost

Would turn you to toast.

And last, but not the least,

After the feast,

Wooly shared the poem with all his friends
